Tell everyone you know that you don't smoke anymore. Tell all your neighbors, family, relatives, friends, co-workers, business associates, everyone you know at church, every clerk at every store you go to, the mailman, your barber, even the guy who does your taxes! There are at least 2 good reasons for going to such extremes - First, you will get overwhelming positive reinforcement that builds up your strength and conviction. Second, you won't have anywhere to hide if you think about sneaking a cigarette. Someone will be watching.
Buy something nice with "smoking" money. Get a big glass jar and set it in a prominent place. Every day, put the amount you used to spend on cigatettes into the jar. If you don't have the money on you, then go out to the ATM and get it! After all, if you still smoked and ran out of cigarettes, you'd go out on a rainy night to buy some. The jar will quickly fill with money right before your eyes, so use it for a nice dinner or some cool gadget you want. Before you know it, the jar will be full again. Won't that be fun?
Say "I don't smoke". There are problems with the phrase "quit smoking", as it can mean too many things. You don't want to start playing games with yourself like, "Did I really mean to quit today?", "Did I really mean to quit forever?", "Did I really mean to quit all at once?" and so on. Don't go there. Instead, start saying "I don't smoke". If someone offers you a cigarette, don't say "No thanks, I'm quitting" or "I'm trying to quit", say "I don't smoke". If you feel the urge for a cigarette, ask yourself "Why would I want a cigarette? I don't smoke". This simple change in perspective is the most powerful tool you can use to become a non-smoker.
